Blogging is an art. Many people have the misconception that blogging is easy. It takes a lot of time and effort in writing a blog. There are millions of blogs, but only a few blogs get recognition and become popular. There are a few things you should keep in mind when you write a blog.
1. Be original
Always be original. You should have your own identity. Don’t try to copy or imitate others. It doesn’t mean that you can’t write about things about which other people have already written. There are many common things about which we all write, but you should write in your own way.
2. Content is important
No matter what you do, the quality of your content matters a lot. Don’t write just to write. When you do so, it results in substandard content. Whatever you write, write quality content.
3. Keep it simple
Whatever you write, write in simple language. Some people write to show how well versed they are in a language. Some people write to show off their knowledge of a language. Have you wondered why football (soccer) is the most popular sport in the world? Why no other sport is as popular as football is? It is because football is a simple game that anyone can play. You just need a football. There are no complex rules. Similarly, when you write a blog with difficult words, many readers can’t understand it. When you use difficult words, you distance your readers from your blog because not everyone has a good vocabulary. No one is interested in knowing how good you are in a language, they come to read the content that they can understand. If they need a dictionary to understand your content, they may not come again. When you write in a simple language, everyone can understand it. Simple things are always popular.
4. Don’t force yourself to write
Writing should come naturally. You shouldn’t force yourself to write. Don’t write just to write. When you write unwillingly, it affects the quality of your content. Write only when you want to write.
5. Don’t write for others
It may sound weird, but is very true. Don’t write for others. When you write for others, you write to impress them and when you do so, your own feelings and opinions get lost.
Blogging takes time and patience. Keep trying.
Write with your heart.

Very true. I agree that we should write for ourselves and not for others. It is so easy to write for the wrong reasons but then it feels forced.

Glad you like it. You have to understand that a blog doesn’t become popular overnight. It rarely happens. You have to invest time and keep patience. Just focus on writing good content. Things will fall in place automatically. There are few technical things also that can help your blog to be visible to more people. It can be done using Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Few things you can try are like using the right tags for your posts, giving ALT text for images used in your posts, using a theme that is responsive, fast loading, and optimized for all types of devices like mobile, computer, and tablets, etc. You can read more about it on the internet. I will definitely check your blog when I get the time.
